Investors propel expansion of beer technology company CellarBright™
Wednesday 2nd August 2010
Investors Stephen Page and Jonathan Robinson are backing CellarBright’s plans to make their revolutionary automated beer line cleaning system more accessible to the licensed trade, to ensure pubs, clubs, hotels and other licenced venues can benefit from their money saving technology.
CellarBright, whose product has saved the cash-strapped pub trade thousands of pounds a year , aims to use their new funding to offer a number of financial packages to the licensed trade and thus expand their reach.
Entrepreneurs Stephen Page, chairman of companies Ortegra (business incubation and investment) and the Sapphire Group (software and services), along with Jonathan Robinson, founder and former Chief Operating Officer of NetBenefit (managed hosting services), saw CellarBright as a unique company with great ambition to revolutionise the cleaning of beer lines which has traditionally been a laborious job with huge amounts of beer wastage.
Stephen explains: “This is a perfect recession era product – it saves money by paying for itself within a very short timeframe and goes on saving money thereafter – a no brainer to any businesses selling keg and cask beers.”
‘We understand that there are many sceptics out there that have seen systems in the past that haven’t worked’, says Hance McGhie, Managing Director of CellarBright. ‘However some of these sceptics were soon converted after seeing our system working. The speed of the cleaning process, the huge savings that can be achieved, the health & safety aspects, and the environmental benefits make the CellarBright system unique’.
Bob Dennett, Operations Director, continues: ‘We have had three large breweries examine our system recently and the feedback has been tremendous. We had comments such as ‘this is a unique system, I have never seen anything like it’ and ‘this is the best system I have ever seen’. We are currently undergoing trials with a small brewery in the West Midlands that have 10 outlets’.
CellarBright plans to increase the UK market first and foremost and later expand into Europe and wider afield. Hance concludes: ‘CellarBright aim to be the first choice for Automated Beer Line Cleaning!
